“When I am bringing a VFX artist onto a project, there can be a lot of unknowns about the anatomy of a shot, the color space and more. With BIND, I just tell the artists to log-in and everything is set-up. This is so cool… less overhead and shot management.”One of the most significant technical hurdles of the film was rendering a highly detailed water geyser simulation in Houdini. The shot required extensive computational power that would have taken weeks on a local machine. BIND’s seamless and scalable integration with AWS Deadline cloud rendering allowed the team to process the simulation efficiently without investing in additional hardware or infrastructure.
Additionally, Bind’s automated system for versioning, review, and approval streamlined the feedback loop, ensuring that Roth and executive producers could monitor progress in real time. This eliminated the need for complicated file transfers and manual shot tracking. “Anytime the artists rendered out images, they were automatically published,” Roth noted. “I’d get notifications, and even executive producers could see the latest updates in real time.”
